Instructions: Submit your nomination for any of the awards / scholarships listed below. Complete the appropriate on-line nomination form by May 31, 2010.

WOC Nurse of the Year:

• Member of the Southeast Region WOCN for a minimum of 5 years
• Engaged in clinical practice of wound, ostomy and continence for a minimum of 5 years
• Certified by the WOCNCB in one of the following: Wound, Ostomy and/or Continence
• Endorsed by one or more peers for recognition status

Honorary Scholarship Award:

A scholarship is given in the name of a group or an individual that has made contributions to the Southeast Region WOCN in any of the following areas:

• Education
• Financial Support
• Service on Committees

Dorothy Doughty Research Grant:

This grant was established in 2005 by the Southeast Region WOCN in honor of Dorothy Doughty, Director of the Emory University WOCNEP and a past President of the National WOCN Society.  The amount of the grant is depedent upon the resources of the SER, and will be awarded annually. 

The selection process will include review of the research proposals by volunteere reviewers with expertise in the nursing research process. Preference will be given to researchers with limited research experience, and to those WOC nurses conducting research as part of a program of study for an advanced nursing degree.  The intent of the award is to foster research among members of the SER.  However, if there are no applicants from within the SER by the published deadline, the SER Board of Directors reserves the right to award the grant to a WOCN member from another Region with the assistance of the WOCN Center for Clinical Investigation.

UOAA Scholarship for Camp Assistance:

This scholarship provides children and/or camp counselors financial assistance to attend the UOAA Youth Rally.  Information needed:  Number of children being sponsored, amount of financial support requested and explaination of your needs.

Southeast Region Conference Scholarship:

Five conference scholarships will be awarded!!

• Licensed RN with a Bachelor of Science Degree
• Interested in wounds, ostomies or continence issues
• Self nominations are accepted
• Recipients will be notified prior to Conference

**Scholarship includes conference registration and meals provided at the conference. All other expenses including hotel and travel are the responsibility of the recepient.
